Celebrated for his innovative surgical techniques and unwavering commitment to patient care, he has been pivotal in improving therapeutic outcomes for patients with spine-related disorders.

Originating from Minnesota, Kevin's journey into medicine was fueled by a profound interest in biology, leading him to earn a Bachelor of Arts in Biology from Macalester College in St. Paul in 1974. He further specialized with a spine and pediatric orthopedics fellowship at the University of Hong Kong in 1985.

Dr. Schoenfelder's career is distinguished by his contributions to orthopedic surgery, especially his work on spinal fusion techniques and developing anterior fixation techniques for spinal fractures using the Kaneda device. His clinical insights and research findings have been prominently featured at major medical conferences, including the Scoliosis Research Society.

In 1985, Kevin began practicing privately at Puget Sound Spine Associates, later joining the Franciscan Spine Group in 2008, where he practiced until his retirement in 2018.
